For most local business owners, the thought of taking a vacation causes heartburn and sleepless nights. Mostly because they’re worried that sales will dip, marketing will come to a grinding halt, and employees won’t follow through. So, you postpone (or cancel) your plans. Show up to work the next day.
When I work with local business owners in similar situations, the root of the problem, is a lack of a solid marketing plan.
Not too long ago, I was in a similar situation. I totally get it. I know how it is when you think you have to do EVERYTHING … But that’s not what I signed up for when I started my local business. And I know that’s not what you want either.
So, despite being in the middle of promoting my Marketing By Design E-Course, here’s how I actually spent my vacation:
2 weeks, thousands of miles away … off the grid, in Thailand. Of course, I don’t need to tell you how awesome that was.
That’s what I call a real deal vacation – stepping away from the mundane grind. And it’s all because of a solid marketing plan.
You might be holding back from getting a marketing plan in place, because marketing that isn’t random, but planned to the letter, overwhelms you. You have other obligations. Clients, kids, whatever. I get it. I used to have the same thoughts before I invested in my business. But I’ll tell you this → Part of the entrepreneur life is you get to choose your problems. You get to be selective about them. Your problems will vary wildly based on how fast you want to grow, how much you’re juggling at home, and how many hours you’re willing to work. But YOU get to choose them. And that’s kinda powerful.
Here’s what else you get to choose once you’ve been able to develop a powerful & profitable marketing plan with your existing and future customers:
How much revenue you make … which is fun and life-changing. To me, that’s what a solid marketing plan is all about. Giving you the ultimate financial power to create money whenever you need it.
